Stardew Valley Where Does Coop Player Wife Go

With multiplayer mode in Stardew Valley, you can now experience the world with a friend. In addition to having a partner in farming, you will also have the option to marry them. Marrying another player works a bit differently than it does in single-player mode, so we are going to cover everything you need to know.

Updated October 5, 2021 by Gabrielle Huston: Stardew Valley's Multiplayer Mode has rolled out recently, and more and more players are wondering if they can marry their real-life sweethearts - or even just their best friends - in-game! We give you the full scoop in this guide.

Can You Marry Another Player In Stardew Valley's Multiplayer?

Yes, you can marry other players in Stardew Valley! However, keep in mind that it's a more complicated process than marrying an NPC. Follow the steps below to get through the process as smoothly as possible.

What Do You Need To Do To Marry Another Player?

via Mizuki/Steam

Marriage to an NPC works in the following steps in Stardew Valley:

  1. Reach 8 hearts of friendship with an NPC who is labeled as "single"
  2. Buy a bouquet from Pierre and give it to the NPC to change their relationship status to "boy/girlfriend"
  3. Reach 10 hearts of friendship with your boy/girlfriend
  4. Purchase the Mermaid's Pendant from the vendor on the beach and give it to your boy/girlfriend
  5. Get married!

However, you may have noticed that when you play in multiplayer mode you will not have a friendship meter next to other players. Above, you can see two additional players in multiplayer mode, without a row of hearts. This means that you can marry another player anytime you want!

However, to marry another player, you need to give them a Wedding Ring - not a Bouquet. Next, we are going to go over how to craft this unique item.

How To Craft A Wedding Ring

Rather than giving your future spouse a Mermaid Pendant, you will give them a Wedding Ring. This is a crafted item, and the recipe can only be purchased from the Traveling Cart.

The Traveling Cart is a wagon pulled by a pig that will be directly above the pond in Cindersap Forest every Friday and Saturday. From 6 am to 8 pm on these days, you will have the opportunity to buy the Wedding Ring recipe for 500g. The Merchant will immediately begin selling this recipe and will carry it every day that she appears, so you do not have to wait for it to become unlocked.

To craft the Wedding Ring, you will need five iridium bars and one prismatic shard.

The main obstacle is that these items are difficult to acquire early in the game. If you're eager to propose, check out our guides on how to find these precious resources!

Note: this recipe is only available in multiplayer mode, so if you are playing by yourself you will not be able to craft this.

Once you have a Wedding Ring, give it to another player! They will have the option to accept or refuse. If accepted, you will have a wedding ceremony three days after the proposal.

Marriage Gifts In Multiplayer Stardew Valley

via Aquaward Shenanigans/Steam

When marrying other NPCs, they will give you a Stardrop as a marriage gift. When marrying another player, you will still get this Stardrop.

The morning after you wake up after the wedding, you will receive a purple gift box. This will contain the Stardrop. There will be a box for both you and your partner.

Unlike the NPC spouses, you don't need to keep giving your partner gifts - just be sure that they don't stop playing with you!

Can You Have Children With Other Players In Stardew Valley?

If you have married another player, you are still able to have children. Similar to having children with the NPCs of Stardew Valley, one player will have a dialogue box pop up at night, asking if they want children. This option will only pop up if both players are sleeping in the same bed. If either player accepts having children, they will appear in the house where both of you are sleeping.

Other than that, children work exactly the same. For more information on having children, check out this guide.
